Being introverted isn’t something that I’ve necessarily liked about myself for the majority of my life. As a result of my introversion I’m shy (although this may not be the case for everyone) which is something I’ve almost always disliked about myself. Instead I always wish that I was more extroverted
Despite the negatives, there are some things I actually enjoy about being introverted. So let’s get into the positives instead of focusing on the negatives! 🙂
1. Introversion means I notice things – I’m observant. – Being the introvert that I am, I’ve noticed that I’m very observant. And being observant means that I pick up on a lot of things which is very useful for my writing. The little details that I observe in the outside world is something I can easily include in my writing.
2. Introversion makes me a better listener. – It’s true. Being introverted means that I’m a great listener, even if I may not be the best at giving the best advice, I’m always that person that others can talk to. It’s definitely I quality that I enjoy having.
3. Introversion means I’m more cautious. – I’m less likely to take risks than extroverts, and being the observant person that I am, I’m also more likely to notice any risks within my surroundings. Hurray for being an introvert!
4. Introversion can mean that I’m more independent in a sense. Being introverted means that I don’t thrive from working with other people, most of the time anyway. BUT that isn’t a bad thing as it means I’m more independent when working on things. For the majority of the time, when I have my mind set to something I’d much rather do that task independently than asking others for help. That’s just the way I am and I’m the type of person who likes to do things in their own way.
5. Introversion also means that I enjoy my alone time, a lot. – Alone time is great, not to mention that it gives me a chance to recharge my batteries and relax. Time spent with myself is just as great as social interaction with friends or anyone else you meet on a day-to-day basis.
That’s 5 reasons why I enjoy being introverted wrapped up! Here’s my question for today – Whether you’re an introvert, an extrovert, or in between, what do you enjoy the most about it and why? Leave your answers in the comments, I’d love to read them!
Have a lovely day!

Same here! I feel like we’re always told we should be more open, more talkative, more social. But I’ve realized that I can be those things in my own time, when I feel most comfortable. Absolutely nothing wrong with being an introvert if you ask me and your list proves that. The one thing I love about being more of an introvert is that I appreciate alone time, and hardly get lonely. I’m selective when it comes to friendships and relationships and am very independent too. Lots of positive aspects if you ask me. Great post, and lovely blog too.

I totally agree, I love being able to be happy having time alone. But I must admit I do feel happier around people (most of the time, depending on who it is!!)

I agree! As much as I enjoy alone time, I also enjoy the company of others depending on who it is!

I’m defo a Introvert. I’m realizing it the more I hang with my extrovert friend. He’s very exhausting. But I guess the thing I like most about it is the time I get alone. It’s nice and quiet.

You realise it more when you’re around others, definitely! I enjoy alone time too as an introvert.

I am an introvert that someone turned into an extrovert as I grew older. I love alone time but I managed to attract a lot of friends that like to hang out. Don’t get me wrong I love hanging out with folks…just if done too much I literally get exhausted.

Fellow introvert here! Like you, it’s not something I’ve always enjoyed. I think it’s something that’s more desired as you get older and more tasks become independent ones. it means you don’t need others to complete tasks, and don’t need to be constantly entertained by others. I love the points you made!

I loved this post! I haven’t related to a post so much before. I am definitely introverted and I think I am so observant, more so than some of my extroverted friends. They think I’m a detective or something I love it!

You nailed this! One of the things I like best about being an introvert is that I find myself drawn to writing as a natural form of communication. When in person, I tend to stumble on my words and I have a hard time communicating, but if you give me space, I’m actually an incredibly talkative (errrr, writeative???) person.

I am def an extrovert. I love to talk to people, write to people, comment and read comments from people. I like to talk openly about anything and everything. Often times I wonder why people are afraid to or don’t like to talk about personal things. I feel like talking about personal things helps others to see things in a different light and for me to see things differently. I wish there was a way to challenge the world to talk more about important things. As a Christian I think that I like talking about hard topics or private topics because it is easy to fit God into those spaces. I love talking to other Christians and non-believers alike. I don’t argue, just listen and then discuss. I have always been this way and probably always will be. I still enjoy time to myself to read, write and pray though too. A hot lonely bath is fabulous!!!
