This past week or so you may have noticed that I’ve been a little absent, both from my blog and my twitter. I haven’t been posting on my blog as much as I would have liked to.
As you may or may not know I challenged myself to take part in blogtober where you post everyday in the month of October. When I challenged myself to this I knew that it wouldn’t be easy, especially with my job. If I wanted blogtober to be successful I knew that I would have to be organised – very organised.
Since I decided to take part in blogtober last minute – I literally decided to take part on the first day of October – I didn’t have a lot of time to plan for the month. For the first week I was just going with the flow and writing after work or during my lunch breaks, just whenever I had free time to write.
When it came to the second week, however, I was drained. I didn’t have the energy or time to write blog posts every single day. Whenever I arrived home from work I simply wanted to relax and nothing more rather than worrying about getting a blog post up each day. Keeping on top of blog posts is easier said than done – especially with a job.
After failing blogtober miserably I had a little rethink about my blog – hence why I haven’t posted in over a week now. I’ve been thinking about the kind of blog posts I want to produce, how often I want to schedule those types of posts, or even if blogging is for me at all.
Through this rethink I decided that I did in fact want to carry on blogging – it’s not something I want to give up with easily. You see, blogging keeps my mind occupied and that’s exactly what I need sometimes. But I don’t want to post on my blog just for the sake of it, what I’m trying to say is that I want my posts to be somewhat meaningful. Whether that’s sharing experiences or sharing my thoughts on a certain topic – I want them to be helpful in some way.
Hopefully I’ll continue to improve my blog and the content that I’m producing. Quality over quantity!
