For today’s post I thought that I would share my everyday makeup routine that I wear Monday to Friday every week. I know that wearing makeup doesn’t do your skin many favours so on the weekends I make sure that I keep my makeup to a minimum if I am to go out and wear any. Even on an everyday basis I try and keep it to the bare essentials purely because I don’t have much time in the mornings to spend on my makeup.
For information I have dry so the products that I use for my makeup routine are going to be more tailored to that, as you may imagine.
Before we begin with the actual makeup products I’ll begin with skin care, skin care is important yet I’m so bad at it. To begin with, the night before I will use the Vitamin E Moisturising Night Cream from Superdrug followed by the Vitamin E Leave-On Moisture Mask. If I remember then I will also use the Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream. In the morning, the first thing that I will do is apply my Vitamin E Moisturising Day Cream which has an SPF of 15. This is my favourite combination of skin care and I would definitely recommend if you have dry skin, you can check out my Vitamin E Range for a more full review on these products.
Now into the makeup!
The first thing that I do in my makeup routine is my eyebrows. The reason why I do this is to allow my moisturiser to settle into my skin. The eyebrow product that I’m currently using is the L’Oreal Brow Artist Xpert in the shade warm brunette. I love this because it’s a mechanical pencil which I personally find easier to use when I’m filling in my eyebrows, I also like how it has a styling brush at the other end which is very handy.
After I’ve filled in my eyebrows and my moisturiser has settled, I’ll then go in with my foundation. The foundation that I use tends to change from day to day/week to week, depending on what kind of my mood I’m in and the type of coverage I want. The three that I tend to choose from are the L’Oreal True Match foundation in 1N, Rimmel Match Perfection in 10 Light Porcelain or the Revlon Colorstay (Normal/Dry) in 110 Ivory. All of these foundations are great for different reasons!
I tend to blend the foundation in with a real techniques beauty blender that I’ve run under the sink the night before or the real techniques expert face brush.
Usually the last step that I do in my everyday makeup routine is powder if I feel as though it’s necessary. For this I use my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder which is normally in transparent because I don’t want to add any colour to my face. I use this powder all over my face using a fluffy Revolution brush that I don’t know the name of, I’m assuming it’s a powder brush, at least that’s what I use it for.
If I have time, or I can be bothered at 7am in the morning, then I will also add some eyeshadow using the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette which is my absolute favourite. The colours I tend to go for are ‘Instinct’ or ‘Tempted’. I would highly recommend this eyeshadow palette if you can afford it. A bonus to this eyeshadow palette is that it has a big squaure mirror when you open it up to which is the mirror I use every morning now to do my makeup.
If I feel like it then I’ll also add some mascara, usually the L’Oreal Paradise mascara. As an extra touch I may also put on some lipstick. For work I tend to go for more of a nude lipstick. My favourite one to use at the moment is Max Factor’s Matte lipstick in 05 Nude or Urban Decay’s lipstick on Violate.
And that’s a wrap up of my everyday makeup routine! Here’s a question for you to answer in the comments:
What’s your favourite lipstick?

My tip if you have dry skin is to use bb cream instead of a foundation!

Love L’Oreal True Match for a natural makeup look, it’s so good! I’m a liquid lipstick lover and my new favourite formula is the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink ones but if you’re looking for a proper lipstick I’d have to say my Mac ones are my favourite!

The L’Oreal True Match is my everyday foundation, I’ve used it for years! 💖 I’m exactly the same as you and try to wear minimal makeup at the weekends, I also like having makeup free days as my skin feels better and cleaner. Great post Ashleigh 😘 xx

Superdrug’s skincare products are amazing. Perfect for getting your skin makeup ready.
I’ve been loving Revolution’s lipsticks. They recently brought out a mermaid, unicorn and dragon range and I unashamedly bought almost all of them…
