Blogging isn’t as easy as some people may think that it is, see my post on the truth about blogging for more, and along with this comes the challenge of staying motivated to blog. If you’re feeling unmotivated with your blog at the moment, then carry on reading for some tips on staying motivated with your blog.
Don’t blog for the wrong reasons
In order to stay motivated when you’re starting out with a blog, you need to be blogging for the right reasons. Blog because you want to have a passion for writing, or because you’re passionate about a certain niche, or whatever your reason might be to blog. Don’t blog for the money or for the free gifts, because these types of things don’t happen overnight. You need to put in the hard work in order to build your blog to be successful.
Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers
Comparing yourself to other bloggers can be so demotivating and it’s exactly why you shouldn’t do it. Comparing yourself to others is probably one of the worst things that you can do. If you’re struggling with this then I would suggest taking a break from social media for however long you need to!
Blog for yourself rather than others
If you write the content that you want to write and not the content that others want to read, you’re more likely to enjoy what you’re writing. It’s important to enjoy yourself whilst blogging and to write the content that you want to write. Just have fun with your blog because at the end of the day it’s you that’s in control of your blog.
Join blogging groups
Whether that be a blogging group on Facebook, a twitter group chat, or a Pinterest group board, I would definitely recommend joining blogging groups in order to stay motivated with your blog! By joining a blogging group you can make friends with fellow bloggers and this is a great way to support and motivate one another!
Promote your new and old content
One reason why bloggers can become demotivated is that of stats. You may not be seeing the results on your blog as you had hoped for, even after putting a lot of time and effort into a blog post. To combat this, promote your posts (both new and old content) on your social media accounts, whether that be Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc. This will help your content to be exposed to more people and will help to grow your blog.
