At the moment, my favourite books to read are thriller books. Ever since I began reading books from the thriller genre I’ve been hooked, psychological thrillers are my favourites. Since I’ve read a fair few thriller books I thought that it would only be fair to share with you what my favourite thriller books actually are. If you want to find out, then carry on reading!
The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins
This is one of the first thriller books that I read and I absolutely loved it. At the time there was a lot of hype around this book, and I have to say that the hype was definitely worth it. What I enjoy about this thriller is the way that she uses multiple characters throughout the novel and she pulled it off well! I also watched the film for this book, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the book. If you haven’t read this book already, I would highly recommend it!
The Ice Twins by S K Tremayne
This thriller is about identical twins whereby one of them died. However, throughout the novel, it is uncertain which twin actually died as the twin who is currently alive and well claims to be the other twin. This book had me hooked right from the beginning, it was incredibly written. It’s definitely creepy and suspenseful, a page turner for sure! This is a must read if you’re into psychological thrillers.
The Lie by C L Taylor
If you loved The Girl On The Train, then you’ll definitely love this psychological thriller. This book flicked between the past and the present. In the present, Jane Hughes is living a lie in order to escape the horrors of her past. Five years prior, Jane and her then best friends went on a holiday for a trip of a lifetime before it rapidly turned into a nightmare.
This is the first book that I read by C L Taylor and I’ve never read a book faster in my life. This book was a definite page turner, it was creepy and gripping all the way throughout. I would highly recommend this to anyone who hasn’t read it yet!
The Fire Child by S K Treymayne
Another book by S K Treymayne, but I couldn’t leave this out of the blog post! This is one of those books that I had to pick up because I knew how good the debut novel, The Ice Twins, was. This thriller is about a woman named Rachel who marries a handsome man. Although everything seems to be perfect with her new family and stepson Jamie, Jamie’s behaviour changes as he makes disturbing predictions.
This thriller is eerie and atmospheric, I love the way in which the story is told. The writing is incredible. This definitely won’t disappoint if you read it!
What are some of your favourite thriller books? I’d love to know in the comments!
