Hello New Year, hello new decade and welcome back to my blog!
Wow, just wow. The past year has flown by so quickly and we are now entering a new decade. I can’t quite believe it, the years seem to be flying by at the moment and vanishing in the blink of an eye.
I started the decade at the mere age of 11 and I’m ending the decade at 22. That’s literally double the age that I was at the beginning of the decade which I find crazy. I’ve grown so much over the past 10 years and a lot has happened both good and bad, but hey, that’s life.
Anyway, let’s get into the blog post!
Reflecting on 2019 as a whole
Back in April this year, I took part in a form of the 10 year challenge whereby I discussed my achievements and accomplishments over the past decade. It’s amazing to reflect back and look at all of your achievements, big or small. I’m not going to reflect on the past decade again, but you can check the linked post if you want a read!
Today, I’m just going to reflect on the past year as a whole. This year hasn’t been the easiest to say the least and I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of ups and downs. One positive that’s come out of this year is that I’ve started driving lessons again, which some of you might know from Twitter if you follow me over there. I finally pushed myself out of my comfort zone to do this and I’ve made a promise to myself to stick with it this time around! (It is expensive after all).
This year was also the year that I went out of my comfort zone in terms of dying my hair. Normally when I get my hair dyed, I’ll go for a more natural hair colour and I stick to my brunette shades. However, at the end of June I ended up booking an appointment at the hairdressers to have my hair dyed blue after a lot of encouragement from others! It’s the most fun that I’ve had with my hair and, although it didn’t last long, I quite liked the colour.
Over the past year I feel as though I’ve been gaining confidence in myself too, but this is definitely something that I still need to continually work on. I just find meeting new people and being in new situations that I’m not familiar with difficult but I’m hoping this improves with time.
…hello new year, hello new decade
Although the fact that time is flying by kind of scares me a little, I’m also excited to see what both 2020 and the decade brings overall. I’m excited for the opportunities, the growth and the challenges that they may bring as we enter the new year. I’m hoping for a lot of personal growth, travelling and career growth.
Let’s bring on 2020 and see what doors the new year opens. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all a happy new year!
Until next time.
