May Favourites (Lockdown Edition)

Hello and welcome back to another blog post. It’s been a long time since I posted consistently on my space of the Internet, but I’m back for the foreseeable future, fingers crossed. For today’s blog post I wanted to share with some of my favourites from May. I’ve decided to split it into a couple of categories including books, TV and gaming. I hope you enjoy reading.

Books

In terms of books, I finished reading Bird Box by Josh Malerson which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have previously watched the film on Netflix which I loved. However, I am that person who always prefers the book over the film!

Recently I’ve also started reading Happy by Fearne Cotton and Lockdown by Peter May, both of which I’m enjoying at the moment. I did start a bookstagram account a couple of weeks ago too (which I have yet to post on) but I’d love it if you followed me.

TV / Netflix / etc.

There are a couple of shows/films that I’ve watched over the past month due to lockdown, so here are a couple of my favourites. I do want to write a full blog post on Netflix shows I’ve loved soon, so look out for that!

One of my favourites has been Adult Life Skills which I believe was only recently added to Netflix. The only reason why I watched this film was because Jodie Whittaker is in it and I’ve become slightly obsessed. I love this film and would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something funny to watch.

Another TV series I’ve been watching is Broadchurch on BritBox which I would highly recommend for anybody that hasn’t watched it before. I binge watched the first season within a matter of days and I really enjoyed it, although it was heartbreaking at the same time. I’ve also finished the second season and I would say the same for that. I’m currently part way through the third season and I’m loving it.

I also watched the TV series Wired on BritBox which only has three parts and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Again, Jodie Whittaker plays one of the main characters in this series and I enjoy her acting. It was a great little series and I would definitely recommend this if you haven’t seen it before.

Other things I’ve been watching include Friends. I’m currently on season 9 so I’ve almost made me way through the whole thing and I love it. I’ve also been rewatching Car Share because that show is hilarious.

Gaming

Just before lockdown was announced I bought myself a Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow so it’s only fair that this made it into my favourites this month. I’ve been absolutely obsessed with my switch and it’s the first gaming console I’ve owned in literally years.

One of the games I’ve been loving is Animal Crossing, surprisingly. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not at first but it’s slowly become my most played game. I’m currently trying to turn my island into Hogwarts which is quite fun, I just need a bit more inspiration at the moment from other people.

Another game I’ve been loving is Spyro as it brings back so many childhood memories. I just feel nostalgic playing it and I love the graphics on it. It’s a great game and would definitely recommend it!

What have you been loving this month?

  1. I did not know there was a Nintendo Switch lite. I jave debated whether to have another game console again. Something handheld. So the lite version would be good for me. The only reason I am hestitant, is going by past handhelds where after a few months, my interest kind of wears off.
What’s the graphics like on your lite?

I have nust been enjoying watching dvd’s, listening to music and baking. I am also reading a book that I am halfway onto now.

  2. I enjoy Netflix a lot. I’ve been watching and exploring new shows and rewatching or finishing old ones I never got to finish. But didn’t know that game console existed. Yet, here I am and i don’t know a thing about gaming, 😂.

  3. OMG! I totally binge watched ALL of Broadchurch!!! Loved that show. Of course there was sadness when I came to the end… no more episodes??? I hope it will return.
