It’s that time of the year again where I’m going to reflect on the goals I made in 2020 and make new ones for 2021! It’s been a crazy year to say the least with a lot of ups and downs but who knows what 2021 has to hold.
Reflecting on 2020 goals
My first blogging goal was to reach 2,000 WordPress blog followers. My blog followers currently sit at 1,636 and I doubt I’m going to be able to reach the 2,000 mark by the end of the year but that’s okay.
I also said that I wanted to blog at least twice a week. On the weeks that I have been posting, I have been trying to post twice a week but then I took an unintentional break from blogging. Now I’m back in the blogging game, I’m going to be keeping this up.
I then said I wanted to reach 7,500 Twitter followers. I’m currently on about 6,300 followers on Twitter which is still a lot. This goal might have been more doable if I was more active on my social media and my blog
Finally, in terms of blogging goals I said that I wanted to reach 40,000 page views by the end of the year. I’m currently on around 26,000 page views. If I keep posting consistently for the rest of the year there might be a chance that I could make this goal a reality still!
One of my big personal goals was to pass my theory test, finish my driving lessons and pass my practical test. All by the end of 2020. However, rightly so, driving lessons were postponed when we went into the first and second lockdown. Thankfully, I’ve managed to half complete this and passed my theory test in October, shortly before we went into the second lockdown. Next year will definitely be my year to pass my driving test!
I also said that I wanted to use my bullet journal more regularly again. In all honesty I have barely been using my bullet journal this year because I haven’t had the time. Now I have the time during lockdown, I just haven’t had the energy to do so. This goal still stands though I do want to start using my bullet journal more regularly.
Finally, in terms of personal goals I said that I wanted to become healthier and get fitter. I don’t think that this has been going too well, especially since lockdown started. I still try to drink a lot of water and make healthier choices, but this is still something I need to work on. Lockdown definitely hasn’t worked in my favour for this one because I was able to walk around a lot more at just because of my job, I haven’t been exercising as much as I should be doing whilst at home.
Blogging Goals 2021
First things first, I want to consistently post two or three times a week on my blog. I’m trying to get on top of my game and get ahead with my blog posts, and it helps that I’ll have more time to begin with.
I also want to reach 50,000 blog views this year. For me, that’s quite ambitious but I’m sure I can’t achieve it if I put my mind to it. My blog is currently sitting on just over 28,000 blog views, but I’m determined to grow my blog. With consistent posting, I don’t see why I can’t achieve this.
The other main goal I have with my blog is to start making money from it, even if it’s only a small amount, whether that be from sponsored posts or something else. I’d really love to start working with more people on my blog.
Personal Goals 2021
In terms of personal goals, I’m rolling over the fact that I want to pass my practical driving test this year. I’ve already passed my theory so I’m halfway there, I just need to focus on building my confidence when driving now! Honestly I can’t wait for the day I pass and can have that freedom. It’s just a bit frustrating at the moment as we have to keep stopping and starting lessons, but that’s just the way it is at the moment.
In addition to this, I really want to focus on myself this year and put myself first. I need to make sure that I’m looking after my mental health because that’s one thing that definitely suffered during this pandemic. This includes making healthier choices.
There are a couple of other personal goals that I have, however I’m going to keep them out of this blog post and private. I feel like this blog post is long enough anyway!
What are some of your goals for 2021?
