Hi everyone!
It’s been a long time since I’ve sat down and written a post for my blog. In my comeback, I’ve decided to delete my old blog posts and start completely fresh (I made sure to save all my previous posts before I deleted them!).
For my first post back I thought it would be best to write a re-introduction post for my blog! First things first, my name’s Ashleigh, I’m 25 and I’m from Lancashire in the UK. I’m about to head into my final year studying with The Open University on a full time basis. I’ve just recently changed my qualification title and I’m currently working towards a BA (Hons) Arts and Humanities (English Literature) degree. I might go into more detail about my degree in another blog post, so watch out for that one.
My favourite genre to read is thrillers, but I do enjoy other genres such as horror, crime/mystery, contemporary, fantasy, YA, etc. I absolutely love Harry Potter and I’m currently in the process of rereading them all – I’m currently on the Half-Blood Prince at the moment. (Quick disclaimer that I don’t stand by She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and her transphobic views). If I had to pick my favourite read of 2023 so far then it would have to be The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – I wish I could read this for the first time again!
I’ve also had my Nintendo Switch ever since the pandemic started over three years ago which got me back into gaming. I’ve been loving cosy games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing as well as more nostalgic games like Spyro! I also enjoy playing some Pokemon games too – Pokemon Sword has to be my favourite, but I also enjoyed Pokemon Violet too.
What to expect from Ashleigh Writes
Previously, I used to write a variety of posts on different topics including lifestyle, writing, blogging, bookish and other content. Going forward with my blog, however, I’m going to be creating predominantly bookish and study content at least once a week (fingers crossed). Maybe I will post occasional writing content too. I would love to post more often but the last thing I want to do is burn myself out running this blog alongside uni work!
I’ll probably catch you all up on my degree experience, modules I’ve studied, my current modules and other study related tips/content. Hopefully lots of bookish content too such as reviews, book hauls, and plenty more to come!
I can’t wait to get back into blogging consistently again, I already have quite a few ideas for the kinds of posts I want to write!
Don’t forget to follow me on my social media below:

Hey, Ashleigh! It’s been a while. I too made a return recently and slightly changed direction with my content. I was hoping to find some of the old bloggers around at some point so it was nice to see your name pop up on my notifications! Look forward to your next post!!!

Hi Ash. Yeah I’ve been back but I’m trying not to force too much too fast so I’m posting whenever makes sense for me and building it all back up. I’ll check out your posts. Weirdly I’ve just noticed you’ve posted about motivation and literally I just have also lol.

Welcome back! It’s definitely important to balance your uni course with your blog, particularly if you want your writing of posts to be a hobby rather than a chore.
